After my first book, Screen Plays, was published, the late Norman Geras honored me by asking me to contribute a "Writer's Choice" essay to his blog. I didn't fully appreciate Norm's stature but I thought hard about what to write about. I revisit that essay now and then and stand by it. Norm passed away in 2013 but his blog remains online.
